If you deposit into the wrong trading account, the funds will remain in that account until an internal transfer is performed. You can process an internal transfer to move the funds to the correct account, but this may result in a processing delay.

What you need to know

  1. Funds deposited into the wrong trading account are not lost. They remain in the account they were credited to and can be transferred internally.

  2. To request an internal transfer, go to your Client Portal, navigate to Funds, select Transfer, choose the account you want to transfer from and to, enter the amount, and click Confirm Transfer.

  3. During the internal transfer process, the funds cannot be used for trading and are not available in either account until the transfer is completed.

  4. To avoid depositing into the wrong account, always verify the account number displayed on the Funds screen before clicking Make Deposit. If you have multiple trading accounts, double-check that the account number matches the account you intend to fund.
