Does my Demo account simulate real market liquidity and slippage?
Updated 2 months ago

Demo accounts are built to closely reflect live market conditions, so you can practice trading in a realistic environment. This includes real-time pricing, competitive spreads, and comparable execution speed, allowing you to become familiar with the platform and market behaviour.

However, it’s important to note that Demo accounts do not fully replicate live market liquidity.

In particular:

  • Price slippage (when a trade is executed at a different price than the one requested) is not applied in the demo environment.

  • Trade execution outcomes may differ from those on a Live account, especially during high-volatility periods or fast-moving markets.

  • Price movements in the Demo environment may differ slightly from those on a Live account, as Live account pricing is influenced by real-time market supply and demand.

If your trading strategy depends on factors such as slippage, liquidity depth, or rapid execution, results on a Demo account may not accurately reflect live trading performance.
